Meet Ajarn Elissa!
Dr. Elissa Miller-Kay is currently a lecturer in piano performance and musicology at the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music in Bangkok, Thailand. She holds a PhD in Piano Performance from New York University as well as degrees from Mannes and Oberlin College (MMus and BMus in Piano Performance respectively).
Dr. Miller-Kay has over 15 years of piano teaching experience and has worked with students of all ages and skill levels. She spent two years on faculty at the New School for Music Study, a division of the Frances Clark Center for Keyboard Pedagogy, in Kingston, New Jersey and was greatly influenced by the philosophy of the Music Tree Method and by the excellent work of her colleagues, particularly Marvin Blickenstaff and Amy Glennon.
Dr. Miller-Kay loves performing and teaching classical music. She hopes that this method book will help future generations of Thai children discover the joy of music making.
